UTASS invites young people between the ages of 16 – 25 years living within the Durham Dales to apply for a funded place on a series of short training courses designed to support those who are passionate about working in farming, land management or rural skills. The training programme is flexible and will be agreed with successful applicants to meet their needs, but is likely to include:

  • Lantra Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
  • British Wool Shearing Training
  • City & Guilds NPTC Safe use of Pesticides
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Dry Stone Walling taster day
  • Introduction to Hedge Laying
